Initiatives Conclude Signature Collection Phase, Move To Verification Process

The signature collection period for the proposed initiatives in circulation closes on April 30, 2024. The initiative sponsors Idahoans for Open Primaries and Kind Idaho must submit the collected signatures to the county clerks by May 1, 2024. County clerks will verify petition signatures and after the verification process, the Idaho Secretary of State’s Office will determine if the initiatives have received the required valid signatures to appear on the ballot in the November 2024 General Election.

June 28, 2024 – Deadline for county clerks to verify signatures

The sponsors of the measures must provide the required 62,895 signatures (six percent of the total registered voters at the time of the November 2022 General Election) to qualify for the November 2024 ballot. The submitted voter signatures must meet the requirements for distribution across at least 18 legislative districts, with at least 6 percent of registered voters from each district.
